We Are Our Community

Mindful wealth management requires more than investing with integrity and striving to create sustainable abundance for our clients. The DeYoe Wealth Management team is also deeply involved in our vibrant and diverse Bay Area community. We have a longstanding tradition of providing both financial and personal support to local organizations, ranging from coaching youth sports teams and teaching financial literacy courses to supporting cultural and social service organizations.

We are passionate champions of social justice and the fellowship of ideas. The following are just a small sampling of the local organizations we support:

Since 1970, the Berkeley Food and Housing Project (BFHP) has been a compassionate provider of homeless services. BFHP believes that everyone has a basic right to food, housing, and stability and works one on one with clients to help them develop the skills they need to move their lives forward into independence.

Jonathan served on the board of BFHP, and both his family and the DeYoe Wealth Management Team actively support BFHP’s mission. In 2014 Nancy served on the BFHP Men’s Shelter Task Force, and in 2015 DeYoe Wealth Management committed $50,000 to the building of the new men’s shelter, which is scheduled to break ground in 2018.

Rotary Club formed RotaCare in response to the unmet needs of many local residents who had limited access to primary healthcare services. Today, there are 12 Rotacare clinics located throughout the greater Bay Area.

DeYoe Wealth Management has supported the prescription drug program at the Richmond RotaCare clinic since it was founded in 2014.

The ACC Mavericks is the select soccer program of the Alameda–Contra Costa Youth Soccer League and offers the highest level of play available in the League. All League players are encouraged to try out for the Mavericks team in their age group.

The Albany Berkeley Soccer Club (ABSC) is the largest recreational soccer program in the East Bay, serving more than 3,000 kids ages 4 to 19 every season. All skill levels are represented and encouraged to come out and play, develop skills, learn the game, learn good sportsmanship, and have lots of fun.

Soccer has long been near and dear to Jonathan’s heart. He attributes much of his success to participating in team sports when he was growing up, and he has never forgotten the life lessons he learned from his childhood soccer coaches. He loves having the opportunity to be a positive influence on kids playing soccer in Berkeley. He managed his son’s Mavericks team, and he has coached in the ABSC and provided financial support to both ABSC and the ACC Mavericks.

Leadership East Bay’s (LEB) Mission is to convene emerging and established leaders from diverse community sectors to refine and develop their leadership skills through a peer cohort for learning and support to become better informed and engaged citizens as they serve the communities they impact. LEB is open to all individuals who live or work in Albany, Berkeley, El Cerrito, and Emeryville, who serve clients in these communities, or share regional interests.

Four of DeYoe Wealth Management’s Team Members have completed the LEB program. We donate money, supplies, scholarships, and the use of our conference room to LEB, and we sponsor LEB’s Economic Development Day. We have proudly supported LEB since its inception.

Shotgun Players is a company of artists determined to create bold, relevant, affordable theater that inspires and challenges audience and artist alike to reexamine our lives, our community, and the ever-changing world around us.

DeYoe Wealth Management and our clients have enjoyed a wonderful relationship with Shotgun for over a decade. We sponsor at least one production every year, and we host an Annual Night at the Theater event at the Shotgun Ashby Stage, filling the house with our clients and friends for a gala reception followed by an amazing evening of live theater.

The Berkeley Chamber Visionary Awards were created to honor individuals with both the imagination and persistence to innovate in the city of Berkeley. Our town has a long history of firsts and is proud of its heritage. At the same time, our colorful history has fostered a cautious, if not skeptical, view of “profit” and the role that local businesses play in the economic health of a city.

DeYoe Wealth Management is a founding sponsor of the Visionary Awards and has continued to support the Berkeley Chamber’s efforts to recognize visionary business leaders in our community.

Coming together for justice is a prerequisite in the pursuit of Martin Luther King Jr.’s “Beloved Community.” Just as so many have done before us, we come together in brotherhood and sisterhood to secure human dignity. We come together in an effort to achieve a reconciled world. We aim to create an environment where justice prevails and individuals can attain their full potential. If you wish to be reliably moved to tears, attend the annual MLK Jr. Breakfast.

DeYoe Wealth Management is proud to be among the founding sponsors of this annual Martin Luther King Jr. celebration in Berkeley.

Founded in 2013, Uncharted was the Bay Area’s first ideas festival. It brings together our diverse community with some of the world’s great thinkers for two thrilling days of discussion, debate, and workshops designed to engage and inspire.

When DeYoe Wealth Management was asked to be a founding sponsor of UNCHARTED, we were absolutely thrilled, and we’ve continued to support this exciting Berkeley Festival of Ideas every year.

The Freight & Salvage Coffeehouse is a nonprofit community arts organization dedicated to promoting public awareness and understanding of traditional music—music that is rooted in and expressive of the great variety of regional, ethnic, and social cultures of peoples throughout the world. This worthy organization is supported by attendance, grants, musicians’ benefit performances, volunteer efforts, and generous tax deductible donations.

Both of Jonathan’s children are talented musicians, and live music is a passion in the DeYoe family household. In 2017, DeYoe Wealth Management joined the Freight & Salvage Community as a corporate sponsor.

Since 2001, the Greater Good Science Center (GGSC) at the University of California, Berkeley has been at the fore of a new scientific movement to explore the roots of happy and compassionate individuals, strong social bonds, and altruistic behavior—the science of a meaningful life. DeYoe Wealth Management is a proud supporter of their Gratitude in the Workplace Program.

The Berkeley Police Association was founded in 1953 by the sworn officers of the Berkeley Police Department. The goal of the Berkeley Police Association is to partner with the community and provide quality police service through community interaction, emphasizing the highest degree of cooperation, professionalism and ethical behavior, and to create an atmosphere of safety and security.
